EVS - Evropska prostovoljna služba

Join us

EVS offers young people the opportunity to volunteer in another country, normally for a period of six to twelve months. A wide variety of placements can be found in the social, cultural, environmental and sports sector. Shorter placements of three weeks to six months are available to young people with fewer opportunities or special needs.

www.evs.si is a web page of National Youth Council of Slovenia, which in many ways supports EVS - it organizes trainings, gives counseling to volunteers and host/sending organisations.

Zavod Manipura has received an urgent call for a potential Slovene EVS volunteer in Austria (GRAZ). With first september  deadline, the project will apply for a volunteer, especially for a Slovenian female volunteer.
The volunteer should be interested in working with children and should not be younger than 22 years.
project duration: 1.12.2010 - 30.6.2011
place: Graz, Austria
Project summary:
"Schule im Pfeifferhof - Knallerbse" is a non-profit alternative school initiated by parents for their children. A team of eight teachers is responsible for the education of 80 children. The school works according to reform-pedagogical principles (Montessori, Piaget), that means that the work is oriented at the needs and wishes of children. It is part of the school-philosophy to learn from daily experience rather than from books. Therefore learning is not limited to the classroom. There is a workshop, a kitchen, a library and a room dedicated to acting /role-playing and music, a computer-room and a sport hall.  The volunteer will support the teacher team with different activities like playing games with the children, doing different handicraft works with them, out door activities and much more.  In addition to all that, there is a vast outdoor-area as well, including a playground, a sports-field and a forest. The learning methods are based on "practical" work and on projects. One of the principles of our school is "learning by doing". We try hard to prepare a surrounding for our children  which enables them to make their own experiences, where they can do both, acquire cultural techniques and develop social competences. They also learn to handle rules and borders in a democratic way. It is part of our philosophy to practice an intercultural exchange. This is why we take part in several activities with schools and organizations in foreign countries.

URNIK PROSTOVOLJCA/KE

VIZA

ALI VEŠ, DA...

… se jeseni načrtuje nacionalno usposabljanje za EVS koordinatorje in mentorje? 1. del bo predvidoma potekal konec oktobra oziroma v začetku novembra.
