Ines Gama, Portugalska, prostovoljka v Mladinskem centru Trbovlje
EVS seemed the perfect program to combine what I've learned so far at non-governmental organizations with the development of new projects in beautiful Slovenia. I've started already to learn slovene, which is a difficult but very interesting language and to assist to the VAT (Visual alternative Trbovlje) sessions where you are able to present your artistic work and discuss it as well as colaborate in new projects.

On my point of view in the voluntary field you are all the time learning and helping, working independently and on your own will, facing new people and different cultures. Also knowing more about others it helps to know more about you, and finding out new skills as well! I was looking for a country with the Balkan effect and European one – so Slovenia was the perfect country to come and I think that I did the right choice. This is my first impression, and in Albania we have a saying ”for a first impression you don’t have a second chance” and I have also another saying ”a good start it’s half of the work”.
Gwenny, Belgija, prostovoljka v Pekarni
As a just graduated social worker I wanted to discover more about social work in other countries and after going on a holiday to Slovenia, I knew where I wanted to spend my time learning new things and experiencing an other culture. The work here is a bit different from the work in Belgium, but because of all these things happening around me I can learn a lot by just observing. Being an EVS volunteer means that you have a lot of freedom to work on your own things, with that comes a lot of responsibility. You have to be ready for this, so if you believe you are... then EVS is the thing for you!
Julien, Francija, prostovoljec v Pekarni
Carolina, Španija, prostovoljka v Mladinskem centru Nova Gorica
| I choosed this project because I love to work with kids and youngers in the free time. In Spain I have been working in this way and I think that it's a way to educate.
Slovenia is a small and nice country situated in the center of Europe and I'd like to travel around it, discover the lifestyle of people and the culture.....everything!!!!!!! |
Aurelie, Francija, prostovoljka v CID Ptuj
'If I knew that someone like your mentor would be waiting for me, I'd also be brave enough to go to Germany.' I'm really glad that I took the decision to spend 9 months in Slovenia as until now I got to know a lot of nice people and had great time...and I'm optimistic that it will continue like this.
Sarah, Nemčija, prostovoljka v Mladinskem centru Brežice
I'm almost for 3 months in Brežice. Until now, I've enjoyed almost everything: Slovenian people, landscape, food... Most stricking experience was to get to know Slovenian turbo folk. So, people, be aware of that:).
Catarina, Portugalska, prostovoljka na Slovenski filantropiji
I have chosen Slovenska filantropija because it's an organisation that deals with human rights and social co-existence. I have chosen it also because I will have the opportunity to develop my own project in an area that is particulary interesting for me. When living in Slovenia I will get to know new language, new culture and new country. Being an EVS volunteer will bring to me new experiences and new perspectives of life.
Elena, Makedonija, prostovoljka v Mladinskem centru Celje
Don't believe in fairytales...believe in EVS and your dreams will come true!
Laura, Španija, prostovoljka v Kriznem centru Kresnička
Je pense que la Slovenie c'est, peut-etre, le pays le plus joli de l'Europe. Aussi, j'aimme bien la langue Slovene. Je voudrais bien l'apprendre.
