EVS trainings
Last week we had on-arrival and mid-term training for volunteers in Bohinj. I think we all had great time, got useful information and evaluated projects. Next trainings for foreign volunteers will be in June/July

EVS v Moldaviji
ADVIT Moldova is looking for the EVS volunteers for the following hosting projects starting September/October 2010. All the project are situated in the capital of Moldova – Chisinau. 1. Animation Centre for Youth and Children that aims to offer everyone (children, young people and adults) in one of the Commune of Chisinau (capital of Moldova) and the opportunity to raise awareness of their own competencies and achieve personal development in a friendly centre with social, cultural, sporting and educational activities. The Centre is an innovative and reactive intervention resource for young people. The volunteer will work in the Centre as a person who co-organises the ideas which the young people and instructors realize during the workshops. The Volunteer will initially be in the place as the assistant, but gradually his/her contribution to the content of the workshops will grow. 2. Development of the Human Right in Transnistrian Region of Moldova (Promolex) The volunteer will get the opportunity to get involved in the various aspects of PROMO-LEX’s activities: 1. Writing applications and managing projects: seminars, study visits, conferences; 2. Following European policy developments in the Moldovan youth sector; the compilation of the PROMO-LEX newsletter and the updating of the PROMO-LEX website; 3. Assisting in finding partners and creating new projects in the Europe and the rest of the world; 4. Assisting with research projects; 5. Managing a clear-cut project in line with his/her skills, personal interests and goals; 6. Developing his/her own idea or initiative. Recruitment requirements: previous experience in Human rights area. 3. New Life, an umbrella organization of the HIV/AIDs platform of the NGOs working with the HIV/AIDs prevention. High level of flexibility and motivation to learn Russian/Romanian is required. 4. The Roma National Center (RNC) a non-government organization which promotes through its activity the values and interests of Roma in Republic of Moldova and outside the country in accordance with national values, civic, of democracy and state of law, partnership, opened competition and respects the ethical norms of the non-commercial sphere. The volunteer will be supporting the Centre’s staff in the implementation of the project on the empowerment of Roma rural communities. The project has the purpose to improve the situation of Roma from the rural communities. The empowerment of the communities is regarded to develop the community itself and to endow with techniques like: the mobilization of the population, increasing the level of consciousness, self trust as they must also influence the politics and the processes of taking decisions, also their participation in the decisions that affect them, rising the level of the access at social services and the opportunities of economic development than to solicit help and assistance. 5. Centre for Assistance and Protection (CAP) is the first contact point in Moldova for the persons returning home after a dreadful trafficking experience abroad and also for the victims of domestic violence. The Center, which has been operational since 2001, provides crisis interventions in a safe and friendly environment; during the stay at the shelter, residents can benefit from a range of "in-house" services. Volunteer will be involved in: - social activities with beneficiaries of the CAP : manual work, sport activities, writing workshops, ice-breakers ( for community life), life skills activities ( managing a budget, developing self-confidence, self-knowledge, discussing about values, human rights, communication abilities….), sensitization about AIDS, familial planning - Accompanying beneficiaries to different places (for juridical procedures, vocational school, shopping….) - Office support for staff ; - Implementation of new services in the shelter (library, partnership with sport hall) - Cultural excursions (theatre, museum, cinema, events in Chisinau…) - Helping with the surveys (+ analysis of the results.) f.e. evaluation of the quality of the services - Preparing events for the local volunteers; All selected volunteer will have the following practical arrangements during their service: Accommodation: single room with shared kitchen, bathroom and toilet in the rented flat together with other EVS volunteers from different countries or single room with shared kitchen, bathroom and toilet in the host family. Food: Food allowance will be received from ADVIT Moldova. Local transport: Monthly transportation card will be provided. Language courses: Intensive course upon arrival plus 30 hours of the language lessons with the private teacher is provided. Volunteers can choose what language to learn Romanian or Russian; On-arrival training and midterm evaluation;On-going mentoring and support Through constant communication with Moldovan children and the staff, playing national games, signing songs, telling tales and etc., the volunteer will receive a unique opportunity to get to know Moldovan culture and probably to discover something new in his/her own culture by looking at it from another dimension. EVS v Gruziji
Academy for Peace and Development (APD) is an international, non-governmental, non-profit, non-political youth organisation, which aims at empowering youth, promoting peace, tolerance and solidarity in South Caucasus, through assisting young people in acquiring knowledge and developing their skills and competencies. APD is looking for volunteers for several projects available from September 2010. 1.Project title: Be the change you want to see in the world Number and Duration of Placements: 4 persons for 9-12 months Venue: Tbilisi, Georgia Short Description: School # 198 is the school for children with special needs. It aims to give skills, necessary for adaptation and integration into society to children with physical or mental, eyesight or hearing problems, and children from families with serious social problems. 2.Project title: Home and care for every child Number and Duration of Placements: 2 persons for 9-12 months Venue: Tbilisi, Georgia Short Description: Children of Georgia is an organisation working with state child welfare reform. It includes preparation of children living in residential institutions for transferring them into family environment, assisting children and their parents with early intervention, counseling and inclusion services. Also they work with children in institutions to develop their independent living skills for integration into the society. 3.Project title: Rehabilitation of Giorgi Chitaia Ethnographic Open Air Museum Number and Duration of Placements: 2 (male) for 9-12 months Venue: Tbilisi, Georgia Short Description: The Open Air Museum is a scientific and educational institution presenting natural, cultural and intangible heritage of Georgia. It represents a miniature model of the country displaying Georgia’s ethnic culture in its diversity. The main aim of the project is to give an opportunity to young Europeans to come to Georgia to learn about Georgian history, culture, and people. The activity also hopes to conserve the cultural heritage of the country with volunteer's help. 4.Project title: Child Care Taking at Parent's Bridge Number and Duration of Placements: 2 persons for 9-12 months Venue: Tbilisi, Georgia Short Description: Union “Parents’ Bridge” was established in 2002 by professionals and parents of children with special needs. The mission of this organization is to include children with special needs into the society. Its main tasks are to discover and develop children's hidden potential and to develop their basic skills needed in everyday life. 5.Project title: Let’s act for Development Number and Duration of Placements: 1 person for 9-12 months Venue: Tbilisi, Georgia (Municipality) Short Description: Division of juvenile affairs works with students and other young people in Tbilisi. Main responsibilities are to work with young people who are involved in youth policy, to organize events for students, to work with governmental and non-governmental organizations on different issues connected with youth affairs. Main aim is to build youth policy in Georgia, as there is a big problem within young people involvement. 6.Project title: Aid for Development Number and Duration of Placement : 1 person for 9-12 months Venue: Tbilisi, Georgia Short Description: Public Diplomacy Center of Caucasus is newly established organization. The main field of the organization is to develop public diplomacy among citizens of Georgia of different nationalities, in order to create a peaceful community in the country, play important role in ethnical problem solving process, assist consensual society and political culture. 7.Project title: Making steps toward future Number and Duration of Placements: 2 persons for 10-12 months Venue: Signagi, Georgia. Short Description: “Kedeli” is the main structural unit of the nongovernmental organization “Union for Social Therapy for Socially Disabled People in Signagi Region”. Community is attended by disabled people over 16 years, with different diagnosis: autism, intellectual disabilities and other mental and physical affections. The major purpose of the”Kedeli” is general education and support of these people. It helps to develop their physical and mental abilities, provides them with therapeutic support, and prepares them for future education and life. The volunteer will be living in Signagi. Bošnjaška kulturna zveza Slovenije vas vabi na: Seminar priseljenskega filma
Osredotočili se bomo na filmsko produkcijo mladih bosansko-hercegovskih izseljencev, ki živijo na različnih koncih Evrope. Seminar bo potekal med 30. marcem in 2. aprilom, vseboval bo javna predvajanja dokumentarnih in igranih filmov in filmske delavnice z avtorji. Obisk predvajanj in udeležba na delavnicah sta brezplačna. Za udeležbo na delavnicah je potrebna predhodna prijava na elektronski naslov

Javna predvajanja bodo potekala v dvorani Stare mestne elektrarne-Elektro Ljubljana na Slomškovi 18 v Ljubljani. Delavnice bodo potekale v prostorih Društva Ljiljan, Luize Pesjakove 9 v Ljubljani.
